Last night Cole's junior prom was held at the school. As parents of a junior, we had the experience of helping with the prom. For us, it was interesting, enjoyable and a bit tiring, but I have the utmost respect for the parents and school staff who had to put so very much more work into it than we did! Cole dragged his feet and really did not want to go to prom but I declared victory this morning when he said the immortal words, "Mom, you were right!" After being sure he would not enjoy prom, he came home with some great gifts and even better memories.

SPRING!!!
We FINALLY have some spring-like weather! I have been praising God for this wonderful weather, even if it's just for a moment!!! Yard work was on the agenda but our 'hired' help is getting fewer and fewer. Cole is busy with school and golf practice, Will hurt his arm (praying that it's nothing serious), so Ally enjoyed helping her dad outside.

He really did hurt his arm...at least that's what he tells us. :)

Celebrating Jesus!
The Vlasin's joined us for Easter weekend and a good time was had by all! It was wonderful to have family around to relax and have fun with. Laughing as only family can laugh and at things only family should laugh at...good memories! Sunday afternoon brought quiet to the house and quite a bit of 'homesickness' but life goes on and memories are made.
Crazy Cousins
We always thought Ally was one of a kind but this past week while I was spending my days with Yvette, Ally was spending days with her cousin that is very like-minded and well...to put it as nicely as possible, they are like two peas in a pod. Some of the other words my sister (cousin's mom) and I came up with included strange, unique and crazy. It's great that they can be themselves and know that even then they are loved and accepted for who they are. Craziness and all.
My Addiction...
Nature Boy
Our Nature Boy and his dad have been taking a lot of hikes into our friends local woods. It's been a great way for Dirk to get some activity and have some time with Will.

Usually, Dirk and Will head for the woods without any extras along. After this trip, Dirk said they will be returning to that plan. Ally came home with more audio recordings of her 'last moment's of survival' than one can imagine. And while it was hilarious, her presence kind of negated the whole looking for wildlife aspect.

Another Tournament...
Friday night found us at another basketball game. This time, playing for a different team but still having a great time.
What is it about the thrill of seeing our girl steal the ball? I love watching her do that. Now I'm wondering if that's normal.
She wants to be 6' tall. I think at this point, we are both hoping she makes it.
She scored over half the points in one game and all of the points in another game, helping her team win two out of three games. Go, Cyclones!
